He is a 30-year veteran of General Electric, where he has held global assignments in Italy, the Asia-Pacific region, and India in the Oil and Gas and Aviation divisions. In addition to his role as Avio Aero CEO, he also serves as President and CEO of GE Aerospace’s Propulsion & Additive Technologies, which includes four independent companies – Avio Aero, Unison, Dowty, and Colibrium Additive – supporting GE Aerospace and external customers worldwide.

Riccardo holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Turbomachinery from La Sapienza University in Rome.

Vito is Avio Aero’s Global Supply Chain General Manager since 2017. 

Prior to GE, Vito had more than 20 years of experience in Automotive leading Companies, including several global scale Leadership Roles in Operations, Quality and Lean transformation programs. In his current position, he is responsible for driving customer delivery, quality, and cost for all Avio Aero’s Supply Chain. 

Vito holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Turin Polytechnic University.

Marilea is Avio Aero’s Human Resources Leader since 2019. 

She has over 17 years of experience with the General Electric Company and has covered a number of HR roles in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Aviation businesses. 

Marilea holds a Psychology Degree from the University of Padua in Italy and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois, USA.

Piera is Avio Aero’s Chief Information Officer since 2020.

She has more than 30 years of experience in Digital Technologies matured working both in Industrial and Consulting Companies where she has developed technical expertise as well as management consulting skills and an extensive understanding of the business processes.

Over the years Piera has been involved in key Digital areas: from Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, including Additive Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 Platforms.

Piera contributed to launch the “Women Network” – an organization inside Avio Aero to attract and value talented professionals, promoting their professional development and continues to provide her support to “STEM by Women” Italian Association.

 Piera holds a degree in computer science from the University of Turin.

Paul is the Catalyst General Manager since 2016.

Paul is a 30-year veteran with the General Electric Company where he held global assignments in the US, Asia and Europe in the Aviation and Power divisions.

Paul holds a BS Marine Engineering from the US Merchant Marine Academy and MBA from Virginia Tech.

Giulio Favilla

Giulio is Avio Aero’s Safety Quality Management System Leader. He started his career in Automotive sector with growing responsibilities from Shopfloor Supervisor to Production Line Leader.

In GE since 2000 through the businesses of Power, Oil & Gas and Aviation with Leadership responsibilities in Technology, Quality, Lean and Plant Management. In his current position, he is responsible for the implementation of the Safety Management System in accordance with ICAO regulatory requirements.

 

Giulio holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from “La Sapienza” University in Rome.

Francesco is  Avio Aero’s General Counsel since 2016.  

He has been with GE for more than 13 years where he covered multiple Senior Counsel roles for different GE Businesses covering Europe and Middle East.  Prior to GE, Francesco gained experience in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and in a Magic Circle law firm between Milan and London. 

Francesco graduated in law at the University of Naples (Italy), and specialized (DESS) at the law school of the University of Poitiers (France). He was admitted to the Italian bar.

Francesco is Avio Aero’s Engineering General Manager since July 2024.

He joined Avio Aero - at that time Fiat Aviazione - in 1990 as design engineer. Throughout the years, he has built strong product knowledge, covering multiple roles across different organizations, from Engineering to Global Supply Chain. He has held different responsibilities in design and systems engineering, becoming the Leader for Mechanical Design. He also joined the Global Supply Chain team as the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and NPI Leader returning to Engineering as the Additive Technology Life Cycle Leader.

Francesco holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Rome.

He has been with the General Electric Company for 27 years where he has held assignments across different GE businesses including Appliances, Transportation and Aviation.

Homyar is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Alfredo is Avio Aero’s Product Management and Customer Support Vice President since 2017. 

He started his career in the former Fiat Aviazione in 1987 in Engineering. In his over 30 years career he covered different roles in the Program Management in the commercial and military markets becoming also Vice President Commercial programs heading program management and commercial organizations. 

Alfredo holds a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master in Production Engineering from the Milan Polytechnic University

Fabiana is Avio Aero’s Flight Deck Operations Leader.

She started her career in TLC Companies, working for 9 years in Operations, Sales and Marketing.

She joined the former Avio in 2007 and in her 16 years of career in Avio Aero she covered different roles in Sourcing, Program Management, Engineering, Digital Technology and Lean.

Fabiana holds a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, an Aerospace PhD from the Turin Polytechnic University and a Master in Marketing Management.

Pierfederico Scarpa

Pierfederico is Avio Aero’s Strategy, Marketing and Sales Vice President since 2017.

In 1990 he started his career in a Research Center (ELASIS-CRAB) of the former Fiat Aviazione. He has moved across several Company’s locations in Italy and US (c/o GE Aircraft Engines) with assignments of increasing responsibilities in different Divisions including Civil MRO Business, Procurement, Institutional and Defense Business, Program Management and Product support Organization.

Pierfederico graduated in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Rome.
